Chocolate protein energy balls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • ½ scoop of Drink Nature chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tsp liquid vanilla
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 3 tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons of almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1/4 of a block of dark chocolate (85% or 70%), cut into pieces
  • ¼ tsp of sugar or stevia
  • 8-10 pitted dates


Preparation steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix the oat flakes, protein powder and sugar (or stevia).
  2. Add the liquid vanilla, applesauce, and almond (or peanut) butter. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Chop the pitted dates (or lightly blend them with water in a blender) and then incorporate them into the mixture.
  4. Add the dark chocolate pieces and mix gently to distribute them evenly in the batter.
  5. Depending on your preference, form bars by spreading the mixture in a baking pan lined with parchment paper, or shape small balls with your hands.
  6. Place the bars or balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow them to firm up.
